Connection FAQ
My internet connection is unusually slow and/or unreliable. How can I improve it?
Several things can cause a slow or unreliable DSL connection. Here are some things to try:
- Restart your modem.
Sometimes a modem's DSL signal drifts out of sync with the equipment on the other end of the line. Try unplugging the modem's power for a few minutes and then plugging it back in to fix this. - Check the phone cable.
Make sure there aren't any splitters or filters on the phone line going into the DSL modem. Splitters tend to weaken the DSL signal. - Bypass wireless connections.
If you are connected to your modem wirelessly, try using an Ethernet cable instead. Unfortunately, wireless networks are very prone to interference from phones, microwaves, video game controllers, and many other consumer appliances. - Call BridgeBand support.
If you are still having problems, please call our main office. We will run some diagnostics on your connection and help you track down the problem.
